Hi everyone, What a great beginning of the year we have had. After returning from our Maryland State Ocean City Conference last November, we decided to start preparations for our big day of the year. I sent out an e-mail asking for volunteers to form a committee for our annual Calvert County Professional Appreciation Day. The response was overwhelming! We had 24 providers sign up the first day to help put together this great day. Many meetings later, we were ready. Training lined up, food being prepared, setting up tables & chairs, our donation table for Birth Right, many vendors, raffles, free toy exchange and many other things lined the room. What a day!! Three super trainings were offered and all were so much fun. We had 135 in attendance and we laughed, talked, listened and networked together. What a day to remember!! Our next big project is getting ready for the County Fair. If you would like to be on the committee this year that puts this together, let me know. I am sure the team from last year will not miss it; so come join us. The more the merrier. We are gearing up for The Maryland State Family Day Care Conference in Ocean City. Who could miss this? The condos are booked, our registrations are in, and all we need is for it to get here. Ocean City, Calvert is on the way!!! Ticket sales for our Overnight Delight really went well. It looks like we will make about $1,800.00 on this raffle. This is great since all the items were donated to us. We made about the same amount last year on this raffle. Thank you to Kristina Ganyon for a job well done collecting the free items for this. A big thanks to the providers who sold tickets. This raffle helps us keep our membership low and trainings free.
